Rp- Add on thread to Bella's release

Albert wasn't aware of much because he had Bella in his arms and she was still babbling away about this and that, mindless stuff which all seemed so important. He couldn't believe how much she'd grown in this short space of time and she say so much more now. A minute or two later she was wiggling in her arms to get down and Albert carefully lowered her to the ground, and holding Moo in one hand, Bella took hold of Albert's with her other and started to tug him towards Mac.

"Move," she said, tugging at his hand and grinning as he started to walk. Soon they were by Mac and Bella reached to put Moo in Albert's pocket before reaching up to take both Al and Mac by the hand. "Sleepy," she said softly, yawning, "Moo's sleep too.. bedtime!"

Mac held Al’s gaze, not wavering from the look.

“She isn’t just about sex, Al. I need to know she is alright. Need to remind her once in a while, she and I, have to be with someone else --- who ---,”

He trailed off and then decided not to edit himself, “---Who understands that the world isn’t just made up of suburban houses. Picket fences. Laundry neatly folded up in a corner. Cooked dinners. Nine to five jobs. And daughters ballet recitals. Or married couples needs.”

Mac didn’t know if Al really could ever understand. “I need her like that. In the same way I need you to remind me the world is, as well, made up of suburban houses and everything else, I can’t have when I get drawn into darker things I can’t escape from.”

Mac didn’t say anything he let Al leave. Looking down at the ring, he took his own rings off, the gold and the black one Al had given him and placed them in a dish. He said once, he wouldn’t choose between Al and Selene, he’d stick by that decision.

It’d be business as usual. For now there was only one thing that really mattered. Leaving the bathroom, while pulling on a shirt, Mac found himself a chair pulling it up near the bed where Bella slept. He covered her with the blankets he had kicked off, then smoothed his hand across her forehead. After that he remained in the chair, every now and then he’d doze off but his full attention was on Bella.

Come morning, they’d have to take her before the court royalty and she would have to want to go home. Al might say he’d stay, but Mac would say he wouldn’t stay. All this time Bella had been with Mac, he knew she’d go home to be with grandma and grandpa to bring the other two home together. Those things were a certainty.

It made up for everything else not being a certainty.
